DPS 2009, Associated Public Events

There will be a number of public events associated with the meeting. Most of these are being coordinated by the International Year of Astronomy organizers. See thier web page at: http://www.astronomy2009pr.org/DPS_meeting.html

• Middle- and High-school student opportunities to visit the poster and exhibit sessions, Monday October 5 and Wednesday October 7. See "Información para maestros" on the IYA web page for details.
• Public lecture by Professor Steven Squyres (Cornell University) about the Martian Rovers. The lecture will be at 9:30 AM on Wednesday October 7 in the theater of the Metro campus of Interamerican University. This lecture is free of charge and open to the public.
• Several scientific lectures at schools around the island.
